About me
Naomie Desilier (dez-lee-yeah, not dee-silly-yer) is a Haitian-American artist living and working in New York. Born in Queens and raised in Long Island, she is currently a BFA Illustration student at the School of Visual Arts and strives to become an illustrator.
At a young age her love for art was cultivated through cartoons, anime, and the Haitian paintings that hung in her home. Since then she has wanted to pursue an art career and has become further inspired by surrealist and romantic art. She looks up to the likes of James Jean, Thomas Blackshear II and Juliet Nneka, and works so her voice will reflect those inspirations. A common theme throughout her work is flora, but most of it comes from the stream of consciousness. Anything and everything is subject to Naomie’s pen.
